Join our Introduction to Quilting Basics class, featuring a 9-Patch Quilt Block project, perfect for beginners!

This class guides you through the fundamental techniques of quilt-making, focusing on the classic 9 Patch block. This project offers a hands-on experience in piecing together a beautiful patchwork pattern, adding a border, making the quilting sandwich, and finishing with a binding.

Ideal for those 14 years and older, this class has a maximum of 3 students.
All materials are provided, including a colorful selection of cotton fabrics.

Focus on Skills and Techniques:

    • Fabric Selection
    • Cutting 9 Patches using rotary cutters, rulers, and mats.
    • Block assembly
    • Cutting and Adding the Border
    • Making Quilting Sandwich
    • Machine Quilting
    • Making and Attaching the Binding
    • Attaching Binding by Machine (or by hand if time allows)

Supplies Needed:

  • *Everything is included in your class, no excuses!
  • Bring your machine if you like, otherwise we have you covered.

*Bringing your fabrics?  Awesome!  Use this rough fabric guide (or just bring anything you might want to use).

          • 9 pieces need to be at least 2 1/2 x 2 1/2“ for the nine patch pieces. We generally use 2-3 prints.
          • The border should be a strip 2 1/2” wide and 40” long (and a different print from the patches).
          • Binding fabric can be a different print from the patches or one of the prints from the front.
          • The back fabric should be at least 12×12”- and can be any color from your front or any other that goes with the color theme

Experience Required: 

  • Enthusiastic beginners and up: You’ve taken Introduction To Sewing or have similar experience. You can easily book additional time if needed, we like to work at your pace.

Class Policies

We uphold a stringent no-show policy to ensure fairness and optimal class experience for all our students. If you fail to attend a class without providing the required 36-hour notice, we are unable to offer a refund or credit for the missed session. This policy is in place to minimize disruptions and financial loss, ensuring that our classes remain viable and rewarding for both students and instructors.

In the event of a no-show, you will need to rebook and pay for a new class at a time that better suits your schedule. We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, but we encourage all our students to communicate any changes as early as possible to allow others the opportunity to fill the space. This not only supports our community-centric approach but also enhances the learning environment for everyone involved.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining the integrity of our class schedules and the quality of your learning experience.

We understand that delays can happen, but to ensure the quality and continuity of our classes, all students must strive to arrive on time. If you arrive late, you’re welcome to join the class already in progress. However, please note that the class will end as scheduled to respect the time of students scheduled after you and the instructor.  Ask your instructor about booking additional studio time to complete your class.

Credit Card Payments: For cancellations with adequate notice, we’ll issue a refund to your original payment method, minus a 5% processing fee.  Refunds generally take 3 to 5 business days to show in your account.

Store Credit, Coupons, Gift Certificates: Upon timely cancellation, your account will automatically be credited for future classes.
